2. The mainstream of MPP power pipes adopts socket-type hot-melt connection. In trenchless construction scenarios, it is equipped with hot-melt butt connection. The core is to fuse the pipe ports through heating to form a sealed and strong whole.
The standard installation process is mainly divided into 5 key steps:
1. Pipe pretreatment:
A special cutting machine is required to cut the pipe to ensure that the end face is smooth and burr-free; clean the dust and oil on the port, and lightly polish the port surface with sandpaper to enhance the welding adhesion.

2. Hot melt preparation:
Set the temperature of the hot melt machine to 200-220°C (specifically adjusted according to the pipe specifications). After the temperature stabilizes, insert the pipe port and socket fitting into the heating die of the hot melt machine respectively, and heat for the preset time (usually 30-60 seconds, need to match the pipe diameter).

3. Butt fusion:
After heating is completed, quickly take out the pipe and fittings, align with the axis and insert forcefully to the marked depth, keep it stationary, and wait for natural cooling (cooling time is about 5-10 minutes, the larger the pipe diameter, the longer the cooling time). Rotation or movement is prohibited during this period.

4. Special steps for trenchless pipe jacking:
If trenchless pipe jacking is used, guide devices must be installed in the working wells at both ends first, and the MPP pipes shall be jacked section by section through a pipe jacking machine. When each section of pipe is connected, the hot melt process must still be followed to ensure that the interface is sealed.

5. Quality inspection:
After cooling, check whether there is a uniform welding ring at the interface. If there are no gaps or deformations, it is qualified; after all installations are completed, a pipe diameter test is required to ensure that the cable can be penetrated smoothly.
